RipleyThe Ripley new roof and two Send jobs
In March 2026 Shane finished a complete new roof in Ripley in rustic red Redland 49 tiles: eave supports, high quality breathable membrane, treated timber battens, corrected joists with Celotex and boarding for practicality, and dry ridge and dry verge systems.
In Send, Paul had the tiles on his roof replaced, reported at £9,000 to £11,000. A tricky problem came up and Shane came out in the evening, on his birthday, to sort it. Another Send customer had a tiled conservatory roof repaired, with the site tidied thoroughly at the end of each day.

Reviews from Ripley and Send customers
Outstanding Service from Shane at McDermott Home Improvements
Shane did a fantastic job replacing the tiles on our roof. He went above and beyond throughout the entire process, even coming out in the evening on his birthday to help resolve a very tricky situation. Most builders would have walked away, but Shane handled everything calmly, professionally, and with real commitment. His team were punctual, respectful, and completed the work exactly within the agreed timeframe. Truly exceptional service and highly recommended.
Flexible and Friendly Roofers
Shane was flexible when coming to quote and carrying out the work, he was easy to communicate with before, during and after the work. Shane and his colleagues were friendly, good fun and knowledgeable. Work was carried out over a few days. They tidied up thoroughly at the end of each day.
