Who we are

McDermott Home Improvements is run by Shane McDermott, a sole trader, at 22 Elphinstone Close, Brookwood, Woking, Surrey GU24 0AF. Email info@mcdermotthomeimprovements.co.uk or ring 07858 459 392 about anything in this notice.

What we collect

When you send the quote form we receive your name, phone number, postcode, the job you need, and your email address and message if you add them. We also record the page you sent it from and, if you arrived from an advert, the advert click reference and campaign tags, so we can see which adverts bring enquiries.

Why we use it

To call you back, arrange a visit, quote and do the work you ask for. That is our legitimate interest in replying to your enquiry, and once you hire us, the contract between us. We do not sell your details or pass them to anyone for their own marketing.

Who handles it for us

Form submissions are received by our website host, Netlify, and passed to our customer management system so Shane can follow up. Our marketing partner Hammer Down Media manages the website and that system for us. If we run Google or Meta adverts, those platforms receive a coded reference to tell us an advert led to an enquiry.

Cookies

The site sets two first-party cookies: mcd_att remembers how you arrived (advert click reference, campaign tags and landing page) for 90 days, and mcd_xid is a random reference that lets us recognise repeat enquiries from the same browser for 13 months. If advertising tags are switched on, you will be asked to accept or reject them, and rejecting turns advert measurement off.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiry details only as long as we need them to reply and follow up, and customer records for as long as the guarantee and our accounting duties require.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of your details, ask us to correct or delete them, or object to how we use them, by emailing us. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
